CAL SODADA NF - IQB®
According to national and international official rules, soda lime is a mixture of calcium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide and/or potassium hydroxide. The proportion of its component is not exactly defined, but quality parameters limit its fundamental features regarding its main use, namely: carbon dioxide absorption capacity, granulometry, hardness, etc. By means of the following irreversible reactions, this product can absorb and remove carbon dioxide from a gaseous system that passes through its granules:
Recent research publications have dealt with the presence of strong alkalies (NaOH and KOH) in soda lime composition and their harmful effect of causing the breaking down of some anesthetic gases and the following toxic effect of their metabolites, which has prompt the comprehensive recommendation to produce and work with limes of low or zero strong alkalies content. This is the reason why Rodriguez y Vidal S.R.L. has been working hard to renovate its productive structure, redesign this product and even improve its quality beyond the average parameters required by the national and international official rules. Since late 2008, this innovative product of ours has the latest authorization issued by the ANMAT Medical Technology Department, in accordance to the latest resolution on registration of medical devices in MERCOSUR (Resolution No. 2318/2002; see at the bottom).
